Side table DiY with just a little paint.

It doesn't have come from an antique store for it to need a little TLC. These were still cost efficient, even after fixing them up. They were just over $40 each when I purchased them. Talking about bang for the buck!

This living room was craving a final touch, that would anchor the room. I was originally wanting clear glass side tables with gold trim. I then decided I really want that style coffee table eventually, so I did not want to much of the same style. I found these side tables on Wayfair and immediately thought they would look great with a gold frame. Painting a metal frame is not the easiest, but have to no fear it can work!

Adding these side table’s allow the current coffee table to shine! This is a find from off the side of the road. I know right? Someone was movin gout of their dorm years ago and my hubby picked it up. I originally was going to throw it our when we got married, but after refinishing it I have come to love it. (I call it my Restoration Hardware wanna be haha) I painted it in Annie Sloan Paris Gray and has a dark wax over the top.

The first step is to paint the metal with Annie Sloan chalk paint so the metallic paint will adhere to the metal. I chose Paris Gray, because I was painting something else at the same time in that color. You can see the left side of this side table had not been painted with the gold metallic. I did not coat the metallic on as much as you could. I felt like it gave the gold a translucent color rather that a solid gold.
I just love the gold frame with the gray faux stone for the top. It brings a modern flare, while being paired with a traditional rolled arm sofa.

Paired with the new side tables is this little beauty. It sits between two chairs that will be my next big project.
